This series of pieces was created for the BLOOM art exhibition as part of Petalpalooza in partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival and the team behind the Spectacular Black Girl/Black Boy Art show. This event is a celebration of spring, creativity, and community, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Anacostia River and Yards Park in Washington DC. "BLOOM" aimed to showcase a diverse range of artistic expressions including graphics/printmaking, mixed media, oil/acrylic painting, photography, and watercolor, all celebrating themes of spring, blossoms, florals, and the vibrant essence of life.
When creating the pieces, I was inspired by spring florals and fruits as well as bright cheery colors to evoke a sense of brightness and exuberance. This piece in particular I was inspired by the color palette and I liked the idea of a coat made of the delicate baby’s breath flowers.
The print comes in a rigid envelope in clear sleeve sandwiched between pieces of cardboard to ensure safe arrival. It is perfect wall decoration for your home or office. Great addition to your desk or bedroom side table. Perfect gift for your fashionista friends.

When creating the pieces, I was inspired by spring florals and fruits as well as bright cheery colors to evoke a sense of brightness and exuberance. This piece in particular I created this as a companion to the fan favorite Black Femininity. I love the dark skin and soft colors and lace with that piece and wanted to create another piece with the same vibe. I wanted to keep the composition and coloring similar but wanted to ensure it was a different piece. I absolutely love the hummingbirds.

Pink Takeover was created by TikToker Jae.minnie where she encourages Black Women to wear a pink hairstyle in order for Black Women to “show our individuality and defy a system that tells us to tone ourselves down.” To support the movement I created these pieces.

I originally did this piece in watercolor in 2015. I decided to redo it in procreate with the new digital skills I learned. I love to see the growth and evolution in my work.
